For someone who’s been to her fair share of shows, I was quite shocked to have experienced so many firsts. The first time I was welcomed to my seat with a gift. The first time I would see Romanized subtitles provided for every song. The first time I experienced two encores in one night. Then of course the first time IU would perform here in Atlanta.July 19th, IU graced the stage at State Farm Arena for the 2024 HER World Tour. This was more than just a concert, it was a performance. She opened up with 'Holssi' and even though it was only the first song, you could instantly feel the power of her voice and her emotion as she sang. The artist has quite a reputation and to get to experience it live was something straight out of a dream.

She was accompanied by her amazingly talented live band and background dancers throughout the night. Made even more special when she featured local dancers from Atlanta to be a part of the story she shared. Each piece coming together perfectly making everyone in the audience not only hear the story she wanted to tell but feel it too. While the night was coming to an end and the final songs were being sung. It took a moment to capture that exact feeling. The crowd lit up by the thousands of lightsticks in the venue. IU gracing the stage with her amazing vocals. I knew this wasn’t just another concert and I know the fans in the audience felt it too. It may be a while until Atlanta sees IU again, but one thing is for sure. Atlanta will happily wait for her arrival no matter how long it may take because she’s our "Celebrity."

ITZY "Born to Be" in Atlanta

Written by: Mehana Rosario

Last week, sensational K-pop girl group ITZY visited Atlanta for their 2nd world tour “ BORN TO BE”. As a fan, I was very excited to see what they would bring to the table. The show was held at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theater, and MIDZY (ITZY’s fandom) made sure to show up and show out. Hundreds of Fans were gathered outside the venue buzzing with excitement and handing out freebies. Once we got inside the venue, the excitement continued as fans danced to the music and waited with anticipation for ITZY to come out.As the lights dimmed, the girls made their way to the stage and opened with their hit song “Born to Be” from their most recent album. The girls danced diligently, showing the hard work they put in to make this tour perfect. One thing that stood out was the live band playing the tracks, this surely added a new vibe to the concert, which is something you don’t see often. Each member was able to show their unique charms with their solo performances. The group's leader Yeji, killed it with her song “Crown on my head” leaving a positive impression on both me and the crowd. One of my favorite things I noticed about the concert was all of the girls' different outfits, so props to the stylists for doing such a great job. The girls talked and interacted with fans throughout the concerts and even had a fun pre-encore dance session prepared for MIDZY.Nearing the end, the girls gave heartfelt speeches expressing their gratitude towards MIDZY for all their support. As we ended the night with their fun upbeat song “boys like you”, looking around and seeing everyone dancing with excitement, showed just how far ITZY has come since their debut. I’m very grateful to the girls for putting on such an amazing show and for all the hard work that everyone put in to make it happen. Hopefully, it won’t be long before they return to Atlanta!

IVE "Show What I have" Tour comes to Atlanta

Written by: Mehana Rosario

IVE, a six-member K-pop girl group, recently visited Atlanta for their “Show What I Have” world tour. As a seasoned concertgoer, I was very excited to see what the group would bring to the table. As I entered the arena, there were so many DIVE (IVE’s fandom) gathered around that before I even got to my seat, you could hear the screams of excitement. The fans showed their love for the group by dressing in different outfits inspired by IVE’s music videos and performances. As I watched the seats around me fill in and the music began to roar, I knew the show was about to begin!

Once the girls took the stage, they opened with their hit song “I AM.” I was immediately blown away by the group’s performance. Their vocals and dance are something else! The main vocalist, Yujin, stood out with her signature high note in the song. One thing I love about K-pop concerts is how you can truly feel how much time and effort the artist has put into their shows. The girls did not disappoint and executed every move flawlessly.
In between songs, the girls made sure to interact with the crowd and speak about their time in Atlanta. During this time, they talked about visiting places like the aquarium, attending an Atlanta Hawks game, and eating delicious foods. The main rapper, Rei, even talked about going to Target and buying a Bratz doll! The girls were very grateful towards their fans, and DIVE made sure to return that love by keeping up the energy. As the concert progressed, the girls showed their charm and teamwork with solo and duo performances.
Nearing the end, the girls performed their most recent song, “All Night,” and danced the night away alongside the crowd. Throughout the show, the girls proved their amazing abilities and were able to put on an amazing show! Hopefully, in the future, they’ll return to Atlanta and put on another great show.

AleXa "Sick of You" in ATL

Written by: Crystal Borges

AleXa brought her revolution back to Atlanta on the “Sick of You” tour this past Tuesday at The Masquerade. Not only was she able to perform some of her most loved songs, she was also teasing the fans by introducing some new unreleased tracks this tour. One of the highlights of the show is when she performed her newly released single “Sick.” Being a fan of the song itself, I couldn't wait to hear live and she certainly did not disappoint as she sang the song flawlessly and with her emotion filling up the venue. One thing I noticed that stood out for me was AleXa’s relationship with her fans. It almost seemed like a friendship more than an artist and fan exchange. She had one segment where she even asked her fans to submit some problems and she would give her best advice to the scenario. It was interesting to see both the fans and artists being very comfortable with each other and honest and overall just having a great time together. You could tell AleXa has a very warm and energetic personality and she shows it well. There is not one moment she let the hype die in the venue!Something I will never get tired of is seeing a fan see an artist they admire. it was beautiful not only to see the artist giving her all to put on a show but also to see the fans cheer and get excited when their favorite song came on or when AleXa completed their heart or waved back. We can't wait to see what the next part of AleXa’s Revolution is and we hope a trip back to Atlanta isn’t too far away.
